Communication device:

The cell phone was invented in 1973 by Martin Cooper.

Martin Cooper was born in 1928 in Chicago, Illinios. He was a vice president and manager for Motorola. Cooper received an undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering in 1950. He then earned his masters in 1957. During the Korean War, he served on a Navy destroyer and also a submarine in Hawaii.
The idea for the cell phone was first thought of in 1915 by the American Telephone and Telegraph Company. However, it took 63 years for it to be developed. Martin Cooper was assigned to be in charge of the car phone division, but he had an idea of a phone that was light enough to be portable. In 1973, the first protoype of the cell phone was made in 90 days.
